With her California flag art, L.A.-based artist Jillian Kogan has created with limitless imagination the most unique artwork for the art-inspired nursery or child's room.
Reinterpreting the iconic flag by incorporating children's imagery and Pop Art elements into the familiar image, Kogan crafts each flag inspired by the work of Peter Blake, Andy Warhol, and Jasper Johns. Working exclusively with the California State flag, she manipulates its form with everything from layers and layers of cloth and fabric to buttons, patches, leather, shells, currency, even Bolivian coffee beans, all achieving a highly textural look to it.
Choose from one of her limited edition series “California Republic” or “Rattle Republic,” or you can personalize your own flag art with your child’s name, mementos or anything personal to make it the most unique piece of art.
